  1. The St. Louis Expostion has photo of Benjamin C. Bent. I am not aware who is standing next to him. In the Manhattan Beach Photograph, Benjamin C. Bent is standing again in Front holding the Cornet along with his Brother Arthur Bent.
Ben had four Brothers, all of which played in Gilmore's Band from time to time and were featured soloist (Frederick W. and Thomas C.). I have come across printed material that supports this claim. Arthur was an arranger and guest conductor. In his obituary which his death took place within a year after the Manhattan Beach photograph, it explains his association with the Gilmore Band, it mentions that The Band played at his house and Levy performed several songs in tribute to the fallen band mate.
The Manhattan Beach photograph original is in the Boston Library. I would like to view other photographs for closer observation of bandmate identification. If someone know's where the originals of these other photos I would be appreciative.

  2. Ben Bent was married to (and performed with) early saxophone virtuoso Louise Linden. Do you know if he was married previously, to a woman in England, before he married Linden?

    1. I am not aware of his prior marriage. Do you know the history of the family? Do you know about his father Moses, I heard he was the leader of the Royal Artillery Band.
